FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions I’m asked most often. If there’s anything I haven’t covered, please feel free to get in touch ♡
How do I book a session?
Simply get in touch with the type of session you’re interested in and roughly when you’d like to book. I’ll send you the relevant session information along with my availability.
A £20 booking fee is required to secure your date and time, unless otherwise stated for a particular session or promotion. Your remaining balance is due at the start of your session.
Is my booking fee refundable?
Your booking fee secures your chosen date and time and is non-refundable, subject to your statutory rights.
If you need to rearrange your session, please give me as much notice as possible and I’ll always do my best to find another suitable date.
Full details can be found in my Terms & Conditions.
How many photographs will I receive?
My main session packages include all of the best images from your session, professionally edited in my usual style.
The number of photographs will vary depending on the type of session and what we’re able to capture on the day. The image numbers shown within each package are a guide rather than a guaranteed amount.
As a general guide:
Family Sessions – usually around 10 images
Birthday Mini Sessions – usually around 10 images
Sitter Sessions – usually around 10 images
Maternity Sessions – usually around 10–15 images
Cake Smash Sessions – usually around 20–30 images
Newborn Sessions – usually around 30–40 images
Golden Hour gallery sizes can vary depending on the individual session.
Do I need to choose my favourite photographs?
Not for my main session packages ♡
There’s no choosing favourites and no gallery upgrade afterwards. I’ll select all of the best photographs from your session, professionally edit them and deliver your finished collection through your own private online gallery.
Will I receive every photograph you take?
You’ll receive all of the best finished images from your session, rather than every photograph taken on the day.
I carefully go through your photographs and remove duplicates, very similar images, test shots, missed focus, closed eyes and anything that doesn’t meet my finished standard.
Only the strongest images are selected and professionally edited for your final gallery.
Do you provide RAW or unedited photographs?
No. RAW files and unedited photographs are not supplied.
Editing is an important part of my finished work, so all photographs you receive will be professionally edited in my usual LB Photography style.
How will I receive my photographs?
Your finished photographs will be delivered through your own private online gallery.
You’ll be able to view and download your high-resolution digital images directly from your gallery. I always recommend downloading your photographs rather than screenshotting them, as this ensures you receive the full-quality files.
How long will it take to receive my gallery?
I always aim to get your photographs back to you as soon as possible while still giving every image the time and attention it deserves.
Turnaround times can vary depending on the type of session and how busy I am, particularly during seasonal periods such as Christmas.
I’ll give you an estimated turnaround time where possible, but please remember this is a guide unless a specific deadline has been agreed.
Where is your studio?
My studio is located at:
LB Photography
George Wheeler Court
Somerton
TA11 6FW
Full arrival information will be sent when your session is booked.
What should we wear?
For sessions photographed against my white studio backdrop, I usually recommend light, neutral and natural colours such as white, cream, beige, soft browns and other muted tones.
Try to coordinate rather than everyone wearing exactly the same, and avoid large logos or very busy patterns where possible.
Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable and confident in – I still want you to look and feel like yourselves ♡
When should I book my newborn session?
Newborn sessions are ideally carried out within the first 21 days where possible, particularly if you love those sleepy, curled-up newborn photographs.
I recommend getting in touch anytime after your 20-week scan to secure availability around your due date.
We can provisionally plan your session for around your expected arrival and adjust the date once baby is here if needed.
What happens if my baby doesn’t sleep during their newborn session?
Please don’t worry ♡
Every baby is different and my newborn sessions are completely baby led. Sessions can last up to 2 hours, giving us plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddles and settling.
I’ll work with whatever your baby is comfortable doing on the day. Baby’s comfort and safety will always come before achieving a particular pose or photograph.
Can parents and siblings be included in newborn photographs?
Absolutely ♡
Parents and siblings are very welcome to be included in your newborn session at no additional cost.
Family photographs are taken against my white studio backdrop for a clean and timeless look.
Do you provide newborn outfits and props?
Yes. I have a selection of wraps, outfits, blankets and props available for newborn sessions.
Before your session, you’re welcome to let me know if you have particular colours or styles in mind and I’ll prepare suitable options.
You’re also welcome to bring something sentimental or special that you’d like incorporated into the session where possible.
Do I need to provide the cake for a Cake Smash?
Yes 🎂
The cake is not included and will need to be provided by you. This also means you can choose something that works perfectly with your chosen colour scheme or theme.
I recommend something fairly simple, soft and easy for little hands to get into.
Please make sure the cake is suitable for your child and take into consideration any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements.
Can I choose my Cake Smash backdrop?
Yes!
I have a selection of backdrop options available and we’ll discuss these before your session. If you have a particular theme, colour scheme or style in mind, please let me know and I’ll do my best to create something that works beautifully with it.
What age are Sitter Sessions for?
Sitter Sessions are designed for babies who can confidently sit unaided.
There isn’t one exact age as every baby develops differently. Once your little one is happily sitting independently, it’s a lovely stage to capture their personality, expressions and all those gorgeous little details before they’re suddenly on the move!
What ages are Birthday Mini Sessions for?
Birthday Mini Sessions are suitable for children aged 2–18 years.
They’re photographed against my white backdrop with an age balloon and coordinating balloons, creating a simple and timeless way to capture each birthday milestone.
When should I book a Maternity Session?
Maternity Sessions are ideally carried out between 28–36 weeks.
This is usually a lovely stage when your bump is beautifully visible while you’re hopefully still comfortable enough to enjoy your session.
Partners are very welcome to be included.
When do Golden Hour Sessions take place?
Golden Hour Sessions take place outdoors around an hour before sunset, when the light is beautifully soft and warm.
Because sunset times change throughout the year, your session time will depend on the season and chosen location.
As these sessions are weather dependent, occasionally we may need to rearrange if conditions aren’t suitable.
What happens if my child doesn’t cooperate?
Please don’t worry... children are children! ♡
I never expect little ones to sit perfectly and smile at the camera throughout their session. I keep things relaxed, gently guide where needed and work with their personality and mood.
Sometimes the unplanned, natural moments end up being some of my favourites.
While I’ll always do my best to create a varied gallery, specific poses, expressions or photographs cannot be guaranteed.
What happens if we are ill?
If you, your child or anyone attending your session is unwell, please do not attend the studio.
Get in touch with me as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to rearrange your session for another suitable date.
I work closely with newborn babies, young children and families, so keeping everyone safe and well is really important.
What happens if I’m late?
Please arrive promptly for your session as I may have other clients booked before or afterwards.
If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened so it doesn’t affect the next client's appointment. If you’re running late, please message me as soon as possible.
Can I share my photographs on social media?
Of course! I absolutely love seeing you share your photographs ♡
Once your finished images have been delivered, you’re welcome to share them on your personal social-media accounts. Tags and recommendations are always hugely appreciated and really help support my little business.
I just ask that you don’t significantly alter the finished photographs or apply filters that change the final edit.
Will you share my photographs on your social media?
Your privacy is important to me.
Client photographs will only be used for my portfolio, website, social media or promotional purposes where the appropriate permission has been obtained.
If you’d prefer your photographs to remain private, please let me know.
Can I print my photographs myself?
Yes. Your finished digital photographs are supplied for personal use, so you’re welcome to arrange your own prints for yourself and your family.
For the best results, I recommend using a professional photo printing service rather than screenshots or social-media copies, as these can be lower quality.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes ♡
Gift vouchers are available and make a lovely present for new parents, birthdays, families or someone special.
Please get in touch if you’d like to purchase one and I can talk you through the available options.
I have another question, can I contact you?
Absolutely!
If there’s anything you’d like to know before booking, please feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to answer any questions and help you choose the right session for you ♡
